About the national pilot and exhibition
At a time when Europe is facing complex challenges, from conflicts and economic crises to the rise of Euroscepticism and nationalist tendencies, the project “ONE Culture – Overcoming Nationalism and Euroscepticism through Culture” aims to show that art and culture can become powerful bridges between people, communities, and nations.
In recent years, numerous events have tested European solidarity. Brexit, the war in Ukraine, and economic and social crises have fueled distrust and created room for discussions that question the role of the European Union. In this context, the ONE Culture project is based on the belief that education, creativity, and culture can help fight prejudices and strengthen social cohesion, promoting European values: human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, and human rights.
ONE Culture is not just another educational project, it is also an invitation to reflect and get involved. Sharing art, stories and experiences, the projecet aims to bring people closer to each other and show that cultural diversity is a great wealth of Europe.
The exhibition “My Europe” presented in Iași at the Palace of Culture in Iași, during the period 8 July – 13 September 2026, shows the creations of both young adults and of seniors, guided in their artistic process by the representatives of Complexul Muzeal Național “Moldova” Iași. It serves as an example to help people understand that together we can build a more united, open and solidary Europe – an Europe where culture is the shared language that brings people together.

The last section of the exhibition represents an invitation to interact, addressed to you, the visitors, who now have the option to share with us one word, one phrase, one expression, one thought which to you are defining EUROPE.
The flipchart question is What Does Europe Mean To You? And the answers vary considerably, from INTEGRATION, CIVILIZATION, DEVELOPMENT, to TASTY FOOD, UNIQUE AND FASCINATING CULTURES But also VIVA ESPANA, SLAVA UKRAINE, and the drawing of a heart
The notebook asks people to draw their Europe, and again, visually this time, responses are quite varied, from a heart containing happy concepts to the actual drawing of Europe done by hand obviously with different degrees of accuracy, one by a national Olympic competitor in Geography, for five consecutive years (My Europe Notebook 9), but also a fish (6), or a flower (8, 14), or a heart with friendship, love, family inside it (13), or a drawing of a house by a two year child (16).
It is very important to realize that these are totally unattended, unsupervised answers to the questions we asked and although they may look rather messy, they are very important as they are very sincere, very authentic.
